# Combined Radial, Axial, and Moment Loads from Wind Direction Changes

## Combined Radial, Axial, and Moment Loads from Wind Direction Changes

Wind turbines are constantly exposed to changes in wind direction and force. This creates complex combined loads on bearings: radial from the rotor weight, axial from wind pressure, and moment from uneven force distribution.

## Load Types

- Radial from rotor and blade weight
- Axial from wind pressure on blades
- Moment from uneven aerodynamic forces
- Dynamic during wind direction changes

## Solutions

Combined bearings that can withstand loads in all directions are used. Double-row spherical roller bearings and tapered roller bearings are applied. For increased rigidity, paired sets with preload are used.
