# Moisture Ingress and Corrosion in Outdoor Conveyors and Cooling Sections

## Moisture Ingress and Corrosion in Outdoor Conveyors and Cooling Sections

In the cement industry, conveyors and cooling sections are often located outdoors. Bearings are exposed to rain, snow, condensate, and industrial effluents, which causes accelerated corrosion.

## Sources of Moisture

- Atmospheric precipitation (rain, snow)
- Condensate from temperature fluctuations
- Industrial effluents and leaks
- Water from equipment washing

## Solutions

Bearings with enhanced seals (DDU/2RS) are used. Stainless steel bearings or those with anti-corrosion coatings are employed. Water-repellent greases and regular maintenance are recommended.
