# Heat Generation from Friction and Lubricant Shear at High Speeds

## Heat Generation from Friction and Lubricant Shear at High Speeds

At high speeds and insufficient lubrication in gearboxes, intense heat is generated from friction and lubricant shear. Overheating leads to lubricant degradation, thermal deformation, and accelerated wear.

## Causes of Overheating

- High shaft rotation speeds
- Insufficient lubricant quantity
- Lubricant shear at high speeds
- Poor heat dissipation

## Solutions

Bearings with heat-resistant lubricants are used. Bearings with increased internal clearance are applied to compensate for thermal expansion. The use of an oil cooling system is recommended.
